Being a huge fan of Brasov (a picturesque city in Romania), I subtly took great pride in thinking it had  the narrowest street in Europe (amongst 8643834658 other amazing things). But a quick research proved me wrong. Without any further ado, here are the top 3 most narrow streets in Europe:

3. Strada Sforii (“Rope Street”), Brasov, Romania. Located in downtown Brasov, it was initially developed in the 15th century as a corridor that firemen could use, and it is first mentioned in 17th century documents. Its width varies between 111 (43.7 in) and 135 (53.1 in) centimeters, and it is 80 meters (262.4 feet) long.

2. Parliament Street, Exter, Devon, England is a 50 metres (160 ft) long street. At about 64 cm (25 in) at its narrowest and approximately 122 cm (48 in) at its widest, this odd street dates from the 14th century. The citizens of Exter asked that the Parliament Street be widened in 1836, but their request was not answered, which was probably for the best.

1. Spreuerhofstraße, Reutlingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. This! is officially the most narrow street in Europe and, according to the sign below it is also the most narrow street in the world. It ranges from 31 centimetres (12 in) at its narrowest to 50 centimetres (20 in) at its widest. The street was built in 1727 during the reconstruction efforts after the area was completely destroyed in the massive city-wide fire of 1726 and is officially listed in the Land-Registry Office as City Street Number 77.
