We don’t know about you guys, but after 8 to 10 hours of train traveling (in order to reach the sea), the last place we would like to sleep in is… another train- as subjective as that may sound. However, we have to admit the idea of a train-hotel (like Santos Express Train Lodge) is creative and crazy enough to be implemented worldwide.
… and yes, if we were to fly out there in our private jet, we would definitely try it out. Santos Express Train Lodge (known simply as “The Train”) by travelers is located in Santos beach, Mossel Bay in the heart of the famous Garden Route of South Africa. It is privileged placed 30 meters from the Indian Ocean shores, so guests can enjoy the views and feel the breeze. The train hostel features five coaches, each with five compartments separated into single, double and budget accommodation units.
We bet you did not see this coming: Santos Express also comes with a conference room and a restaurant with a deck on the beach. We read some of the reviews online and were pleasantly surprised to see how fun people consider this unusual accommodation option. A room per night cost from 7-15 Euros- less than in 90% of the European hostels. Check out more info here and let us know what you think!
